Meet Amy (founder)
Grounded in Care. Focused on Results.
Bringing practical, research-driven solutions to schools, colleges, and nonprofits.
I founded Gunter Consulting with a clear purpose: to help organizations design equity-driven, trauma-informed systems that genuinely serve the people they are meant to support.
With deep experience in education, social work, and nonprofit leadership, I have seen how systems can either empower communities or create unnecessary barriers. My approach is both down-to-earth and results-focused — blending compassion with the practical tools leaders need to create meaningful, lasting change.
I hold a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California, as well as a Master of Arts in Occupational Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. In addition, I hold multiple education credentials and a clinical license, allowing me to bridge the worlds of teaching, leadership, and mental health in my consulting work.
Beyond Gunter Consulting, I have served as a coordinator, university instructor, student teaching supervisor, special education leader, and nonprofit founder, supporting families and at-promise students.
Why We Do This Work
We believe every student, family, and community deserves access to safe, supportive, and inclusive environments. Too often, systemic barriers — from compliance requirements to inequitable practices — get in the way of that vision.
That’s why Gunter Consulting focuses on:
Closing equity gaps in education and nonprofits
Supporting leaders and staff through training, coaching, and wellness initiatives
Building sustainable systems that are trauma-informed, data-driven, and people-centered
Our Approach
Grounded in Care: I bring empathy and lived experience to every partnership.
Practical & Down-to-Earth: No jargon, no overcomplication — just clear strategies you can use right away.
Focused on Results: Every service includes measurable outcomes and tools for long-term impact.
